A rare opportunity to acquire a stunning WAS Benson oil lamp in the Arts and Crafts style, fashioned from copper and brass and containing its original glass chimney and outer shade.
The lamp looks to have been professionally and sensitively restored in the recent past (including replacement wicks) yet retains a lovely patination and period feel. The shade is finely etched with a floral/foliate pattern. The base is clearly marked WAS Benson (see photos) and Evered and Coy Patent on the brass collar and adjustment knobs.
Measuring 55cm high by 16cm wide across, this genuine Victorian oil lamp would look stunning in any period or traditional setting.
Superb all-round condition – a couple of tiny nicks to the rim of the outer shade (one upper, one lower) but not visible in situ.
