Description
A wonderful pair of Arts & Crafts candle holders (c1890) in the aesthetic style designed by Dr Christopher Dresser (1836-1904) and manufactured by Benham and Froude (active 1790-1924). The turned centre columns and top candle holder are constructed of brass while the weighted base and decorative petal candleholder surrounds (wax trays) are fashioned from copper. Each candlestick has a lovely bobbin turned wood handle with brass finials.
Condition Report
Good vintage condition – a few shallow indentations on the bases (mainly on one of the candlesticks) consistent with age and use, but nothing significant.
