A rare and beautiful Royal Worcester Crown Ware vase in the style of De Morgan. The vase is printed and hand-painted with a Galleon in full sail on choppy seas with seagulls flying across a cloudy sky. The design itself is delineated in gilt against a mottled orange lustre ground. The base is imprinted with the standard mark (“Royal Worcester Crown Ware England”) and a single star below, dating the vase to 1916. It bears the pattern number W304.
Superb original condition – no chips, cracks or restoration. There are a couple of small, superficial scratch marks on the body (barely visible) and some gilding ware to the rim.
